Taiji Furnace Bronze Burner

Cast bronze with an eight-trigram pierced lid

This burner follows the older furnace shape, with a round belly, three feet and a lid pierced with the eight trigrams so smoke leaves in a slow, even ribbon rather than a single column. The cast bronze body takes standard cones or a small ash bed for sticks, and the lid lifts off for cleaning. At twelve centimetres across it suits a desk or an altar without dominating the room, and the unpolished interior develops a dark, even finish with use.
